A Brief Overview
The Assistant Director of Logistics is responsible for creating and managing effective supply chain strategies for ensuring seamless flows of goods and services in a timely, cost-effective, and efficient manner. Responsible for managing daily operations associated with order processing, picking, cycle counting, inventory control, quality and consolidation; courier services of inbound and outbound freight, third-party linen provider, orthopedic consignment of medical devices, and the distribution of mail via the United States Postal Service (USPS). Responsible for establishing and/or enforcing Standard Operating Procedures. The Assistant Director of Logistics will also support the Director of Logistics to ensure overall supply chain demands are met.
The Assistant Director of Logistics will have strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational skills, a general knowledge of supply chain management, and experience managing third party providers.
What you will do
Provide system leadership and direction for support services, systems processes, couriers, linen management, distribution of USPS and general supply chain efficiency.
Manage the fiscal affairs of areas of responsibility within the established business plan.
Provide leadership and vision to employee partners in areas of accountability. Evaluates people, tactics, processes, and technology as it relates to supply chain objectives, policies, practices, and procedures to assure TH’s systems meet patient and provider needs and TH’s financial objectives and allows the system to compete with a leading-edge supply chain function.
Analyze data and trends for providing cost-effective strategies, identifying areas that need improvement and ensuring compliance with regulations.
Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for functional areas and measures, tracks, and reports departmental performances. Identifies deficiencies and creates corrective action plans.
Maintain seamless logistics operations during periods when the Director of Logistics is unavailable, ensuring continuity of leadership, timely decision-making, and uninterrupted service delivery across all functions.
Education Qualifications
High School Diploma with 5+ years of supply chain experience Required or
Associate's Degree in business administration or related field Required
Bachelor's Degree in business administration Preferred
Experience Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of knowledge of logistics, warehouse operations management, general supply chain management, and management of third-party providers Required and
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an Assistant Director role Preferred
Prior experience managing third party providers Required
Prior experience in warehouse operations supervision/management Preferred
Healthcare system experience Preferred
Exposure to and prior experience with lean manufacturing disciplines Preferred
Prior experience in the management of third-party providers Preferred

Experience with WorkDay supply chain information system preferred
Experience with PeakLogix’s PickPro WMS preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Professional in Supply Management - Institute for Supply Management Preferred or
Certified Supply Chain Professional - Association for Supply Chain Management Preferred or
Certified Materials & Resource Professional - Association for Health Care Resource & Materials Management Preferred
