Actalent CMM Programmer/Quality Technician in Geneva, Illinois
Job Title: Quality TechnicianJob Description
As a Quality Technician, you will report to the VP of Engineering & Quality and work closely with various departments such as sales, engineering, assembly, and maintenance. Your role is crucial in ensuring product standards and productivity goals are met while maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
Responsibilities
Communicate requests and requirements to relevant departments including sales, engineering, assembly, heater bending, machining, shipping, and maintenance.
Collaborate with the Quality Lead to achieve product standards and productivity objectives.
Participate in the calibration system and document out-of-tolerance conditions.
Engage in the plant's non-conforming materials process.
Inspect and verify critical components, first-pieces, and finished assemblies, ensuring completion of required documentation and feedback.
Complete transactions in the ERP system.
Ensure adherence to quality policies and procedures.
Maintain quality records according to ISO 9001 standards, with the next audit scheduled for September 2025.
Serve as a plant resource in the area of test and measurement devices and techniques.
Perform receiving inspection and issue Non-Conformance Reports as required.
Conduct customer returned goods analysis and create failure analysis reports.
Employ continuous system improvement techniques to identify and recommend changes in inspection and production processes.
Ensure rejected materials are properly accounted for in the inventory management system.
Make material accept/reject decisions and disqualify test and measurement devices as needed.
Review test equipment certification and suitability for specific applications.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
Direct experience with CMM Programming (MCOSMOS preferred, PC-DMIS secondary).
3-5 years of quality technician experience involving CMM, GD&T, and ISO 9001.
Expertise in ISO 9001, inspection, quality inspection, calipers, micrometers, CMM, final inspection, GD&T, and blueprint reading.
Demonstrated knowledge of precision manufacturing measurement tools, including hand inspection tools and Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Ability to program CMM from scratch, preferably in MCOSMOS or PC-DMIS.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical prints, drawings, and production specifications, including GD&T.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Well-versed in quality, measurement, and statistical methods.
Demonstrated understanding of MS Office software programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
Knowledge of MRP systems and quality auditing tools and techniques.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Effective interaction and communication skills across all organization levels, both verbal and written.
Ability to work efficiently in a team-based environment.
Work Environment
The candidate will work in an air-conditioned lab equipped with 4-5 CMM machines.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Geneva, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
