Honeywell Software Engineer - hybrid in Gdansk, Poland

We are seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer II to join our dynamic Engineering team. In this early-career role, you will focus on the design, development, and maintenance of firmware for embedded devices operating under Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) or Linux environments. Your work will directly support the MB platform, which powers our industry-leading intrusion and access control products.

  • Develop, test, and maintain high-quality firmware for embedded systems running FreeRTOS or Linux.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers and product managers, to define and implement product requirements.

  • Support the MB platform by contributing to new feature development, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

  • Document software designs, code, and test procedures to ensure maintainability and compliance.

  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues in deployed systems, stay current with emerging technologies related to embedded systems, FreeRTOS, and Linux.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, 2+ years of experience in firmware development for embedded devices.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.

  • Hands-on experience with RTOS (such as FreeRTOS) and/or Linux-based embedded environments.

  • Ability to read schematics and interface with hardware.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
