Our Purpose
At Medtronic’s Packaging & Labelling (P&L) Engineering Department, we focus on developing cutting edge medical device packaging for the Vascular & Implant Therapies space. Senior Packaging Engineers play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and innovative packaging solutions that support Medtronic’s product portfolio and strategic objectives.
This role is ideal for an engineer who can lead complex workstreams, drive testing and validation activities, and collaborate effectively across cross functional teams in a fast paced, highly regulated environment. You will lead strategic redesigns of packaging systems to support cost improvement initiatives and apply strong technical problem-solving skills to deliver projects to defined timelines, goals, and budgets.
We are seeking a self-driven contributor who is comfortable balancing technical depth, project ownership, and dynamic program needs.

A Day in The Life Of:
Develop sterile barrier systems, packaging components, and assemblies.
Assess materials, processes, and configuration updates for cost, manufacturability, and sustainability goals.
Interpret regulatory and technical requirements and translate them into clear requirements, specifications, test methods, and acceptance criteria.
Lead creation and controlled release of specifications, drawings, protocols, reports, and material in the QMS ensuring cross functional alignment.
Support equipment activities including requirements definition, vendor engagement, and qualification.
Develop and align test plans, execute and coordinate verification/validation protocols, and prepare associated reports, characterization, and validation documentation.
Support engineering builds, stakeholder coordination, and lab interactions.
Oversee sample readiness and execution, ensuring materials, configurations, and process controls meet requirements.
Contribute to validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) and aiding on floor or lab execution.
Lead packaging workstreams within cross functional teams and track milestones, risks, and deliverables.
Coordinate documentation reviews for phase gates and regulatory submissions.
Identifying process improvements, inefficiencies, or risks and proposing actionable solutions.
Act as a subject matter expert for peers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
Key Skills & Experience
Qualified person with a minimum NRQ Level 8 degree in an Engineering/Science discipline and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
