The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for the administration, coordination, and execution of domestic and international shipping services. This role involves reviewing import and export documents, ensuring all customs invoices and shipment papers are present, and preparing paperwork for clearance. The candidate will also be responsible for creating quotes, coordinating with carriers to set up shipments, and resolving shipping exceptions.
Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and edit import and export documents, including Commercial Invoices, Bills of Lading, packing slips, and shipping labels for international routing.
Perform administrative tasks such as preparing reports, presentations, and conducting analysis using various software packages and databases.
Assess the accuracy of documentation, verifying country of origin/export, IOR, terms of sale, and value to ensure compliance with federal regulations.
Follow up on documentation discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and communicate effectively with customers and international partners.
Quote shipping rates for domestic and international parcel and freight shipments.
Set up freight shipment pickups and track deliveries.
File Electronic Export Information (EEI) online with US Customs and Border Protection for eligible export shipments.
Address customer complaints and requests with carriers, ensuring resolution and keeping the customer informed.
Collaborate with all departments to resolve issues related to package deliveries or shipments.
Perform all work in compliance with quality and safety systems, policies, and procedures.
Essential Skills
2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in freight brokerage.
Experience in logistics, inventory, supply chain, shipping and receiving, import, and export.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
Experience with FedEx Shipping Manager and UPS WorldShip software.
HTS classification experience (e.g., importing aluminum and steel).
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume shipping environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Customer service experience.
High volume case and queue prioritization.
Experience with data entry, freight, transportation, third-party logistics, and inventory control.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence 3-4 days a week. Work hours are flexible, ranging from 8am-5pm, 9-5:30pm, to 9:30-6pm. Initially, local candidates are preferred to be onsite for the first two weeks for training. The team consists of five other coordinators and partners with a shipping and receiving team of 20 people. The company offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with prospects for growth as the team expands.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $28.85/hr.
