Summary:
The Lending Assistant provides critical administrative and operational support to the lending staff, while serving as the primary contact for commercial loan customers.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Loan Application Facilitation - Coordinate the loan application process, working with the customer, along with internal teams to facilitate a quick and seamless loan process. (Provide essential administrative support to lending officers by preparing loan documentation, managing customer communication, and ensuring compliance with bank policies. Key duties include gathering borrower information, reviewing loan packages for accuracy, facilitating closings and managing loan files.)
Strengthen Customer Relationships : Serve as a primary point of contact for commercial customers, handling routine inquiries and coordinating services such as loan payments, wire requests or other miscellaneous requests. (Act as a primary contact for borrowers, answering inquiries, collecting missing information, and providing updates throughout the loan process)
Loan Portfolio Management – Proactively monitor past due loans, upcoming loan and letter of credit maturities, and insurance expirations.
Exception Clearing – Monitor, request, and receive financial documentation from borrowers, as required by loan documents. Ensure FSB is listed as lienholder on titled equipment.
Inner departmental Collaboration – Provide a joyous working relationship with internal teams that you will be working with frequently.
Manage NSF (Overdraft)Transactions – In collaboration with the lending staff, mark accounts as return (Decision overdraft items to mitigate risk and loss to the bank)
Administrative Support: Maintain physical and electronic loan files, scan documents into imaging systems and schedule appointments for lending officers.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have strong organizational skills, with high attention to detail and strong communication.
Must be able to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment and follow up with minimal supervision.
Ability to form high trust, business relationships with customers
Strong desire to create value for customers, and by doing so create value for First State Bank
3 years of loan assistant or admin assistant experience highly preferred.
Must possess strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
