The Maples Assisted Living Medication Technician in Fulton, New York
Job Summary: Responsible for daily encouragement, supervision and assistance with medications, treatments and follow through with prescribed services.
Properly documents within the electronic medical record the acceptance and/or refusal of self medication. Explains all care procedures, explaining to resident, prior to performance. Assists with monitoring the self-administration of medications by residents. Recognizes and reports any abuse or potential neglect. Responsible for ordering, organizing and reviewing medications. Will NOT perform the following activities: Foley catheter irrigations, sterile dressing changes, enemas, injections or application of heat in any form. Ensures 12 hours of in service education completed annually. Provides reminders for meals and medications. Maintains First Aid Certification.
Professional Requirements: Completes annual education requirements. Maintains regulatory requirements and active NYS certification. Completes education/in-services in a timely fashion. Monthly and annually and as requested. Actively participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
