Employment Terms: This job is a part-time, non-benefited position in the Adult Education Division that reports to the Director of Adult Education at the Alpharetta campus.

Salary: $15.60 per hour

Schedule: 11.5 hours per week. Hours may be reduced if testing appointments are not scheduled for an entire testing session. This position is located on the Alpharetta North-Fulton Campus but may occasionally work on the Lawrenceville campus.

Shift is 5.75 hours (45 minutes for opening and closing duties, 5 hours for test proctoring).

Alternating weekly schedule:

Week 1: Tuesday (9:00 – 2:00 PM) and Friday (9:00 – 2:00 PM)

Week 2: Monday (4:00 – 9:00 PM) and Saturday (10:00 – 3:00 PM)

Repeat on a continuous basis.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Minimum of 1-year customer service experience.

  • Beginner to intermediate experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Must be comfortable in a quiet testing environment, hear soft voices and see details from a distance.

  • Must be detailed-oriented and capable of following strict proctoring procedures.

  • Must be able to pass the Pearson VUE certification test and the HiSET certification test.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Currently certified as a Test Administrator, one-year (1) or more of computer-based testing experience, three (3) years or more working in a secure testing environment proctoring standardized testing. Flexibility in work hours and days due to candidate testing needs.

    Job Description Summary:

    The Testing Specialist is a key position in the exam delivery process. Under general supervision, provides testing services to customers. Researches and analyzes program/operation data; generates regular and ad hoc statistical and information reports to supervisor and all pertinent staff. Maintains necessary certifications and/or licenses. Coordinates logistics for sessions; ensures that facility area is scheduled and all equipment is prepared as needed. Understands the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of software and computer systems. Must be able to sit for long periods of time and also escort candidates to and from testing room.

    Duties/ Responsibilities

    Percentage of Time

    1. Provides testing services to customers. Maintains necessary certifications and/or licenses.

    1.1 Correctly administers testing through the Pearson VUE testing system and the PSI testing system.

    1.2. Be professional and courteous at all times.

    1.3. Obtains accurate and complete student information and proper documentation needed to administer the testing. Follow the testing candidate check in steps specified.

    1.4. Maintains appropriate certifications and/or licenses necessary to provide testing functions.

    1. Coordinates logistics for sessions; ensures that facility area is scheduled and all equipment is prepared as needed.

    2.1. Coordinates the scheduling of lab services in a timely manner.

    2.2. Adheres to the exam sponsor pricing at all times when registering and scheduling candidates.

    2.3. Creates and maintains a comfortable and pleasant environment in which the testing process is taken seriously.

    2.4. Maintains order and quiet in the testing room.

    2.5. Verifies the candidates test.

    2.6. Monitors every candidate during EVERY testing session, for the entire testing session.

    1. Oversees the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of software and computer systems.

    3.1. Identifies and resolves problems and restores service to the user in a timely and efficient manner with minimum disruption to the user.

    3.2. Ensures that computer operations and equipment are in compliance with applicable policies, procedures and rules.

    3.3. Responds to initial on-site requests for assistance and resolves problems in an effective manner.

    3.4. Ensures that all customers' applications continue to work as expected by performing maintenance on components as needed.

    3.5. Reports all incidents and responds when necessary.
