Apply for Job Share this Job Sign Up for Job AlertsAtlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for the Full-Time Instructor (Culinary Arts) position in the Business & Public Service Technologies department of the Academic and Student Affairs division. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s Main campus, just South of Downtown Atlanta.
Under general supervision of the Dean of Business & Public Service Technologies, t he Full-Time Instructor (Culinary) is responsible for preparing and delivering quality curriculum with daily instruction of Culinary in the classroom & practical settings. The ideal candidate will have both teaching experience and strong industry background, along with a commitment to student success and professional standards.
Job duties include, but may not be limited to, the following:
· Demonstrate the use of appropriate teaching techniques .
· Demonstrate the use of appropriate testing and grading procedures including proper maintenance of grade books and any other appropriate record-keeping requirements.
· Deliver engaging culinary Instruction following approved curriculum.
· Demonstrate professional cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods.
· Incorporate food safety, sanitation, and nutrition principles into all lessons.
· Supervise hands-on kitchen labs and ensure proper use of equipment.
· Assess students’ performance through practical and written evaluations.
· Maintain accurate records of atte ndance, grades, and student progress.
· Participate i n curriculum updates and program development.
· Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations .
· Demonstrated ability in HACCP and environmental hygiene.
· Demonstrate the effective use of oral and written communication skills and knowledge of current procedures in the field.
· Advises and counsels students and maintains appropriate advisement records on each student.
· Collaborate with clinical faculty to promote, coordinate, plan, and provide clinical faculty development opportunities using effective instructional methodologies and technologies.
· Attend meetings as required.
· Observe and enforce the institution’s policies and procedures.
· Assist with student recruitment and job placement.
· Serve on committees.
· Maintain qualifications for employment as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and accreditation standards.
· Follow rules and regulations as described by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) and other policies and procedures established by the Atlanta Technical College.
· Assist in the development of reports and other requirements by the state and program accreditation agencies ; and
· Perform additional duties, as assigned.

· Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials.
· Knowledge of vocational area of assignment.
· Skill in presenting subject matter.
· Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress.
· Skill in the use of computers and job-related software programs.
· Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners.
· Oral and written communication skills.
· Knowledge of student information systems.
Minimum Qualifications :
Must possess and demonstrate the following:
· Associate's degree in culinary arts from an accredited college or university with demonstrated compet e ncy in teaching field.
· Five (5) years of related occupational experience as a Sous Chef or higher, overs e eing at least six (6) or more employees, within the last ten (10) years.
· Must have current SERV Safe Certification .
· Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills .
Preferred Qualifications :
Preference may be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess and demonstrate the following:
· Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Culinary Arts from an accredited college or university with demonstrated competency in teaching field.
· Seven ( 7 ) or more years of demonstrated work experience in the Culinary Arts profession within the past ten ( 10 ) years
· Previous teaching experience
· Certified Culinary Educator (CCE)- ACF
· Certified Secondary Culinary Educator (CSCE) - ACF
· Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE)-AHLEI
· State-recognized teaching credential or postsecondary Instructor certification
