Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Adjunct Instructor – Welding (Part-Time) position in the Industrial & Transportation Technology department of the Academic & Student Affairs division. This position is located at Atlanta Tech's Main campus just south of Downtown Atlanta.

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Industrial & Transportation Technology and the Chair of the Welding & Joining department, the Adjunct Instructor – Welding (Part-Time) will be responsible for teaching within the Welding and Joining department . This is a part-time position, up to twenty-nine (29) hours per week, and it requires utilizing techniques that facilitate adult learning styles and demonstrates varying techniques.

Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, the following:

• Teaching welding and joining technology courses.

• Providing guidance and advisement to students as they matriculate through the welding and joining prog r am.

• Assigning and reporting grades in a timely manner.

• Maintain a classroom and lab environment that is safe and conducive for all students.

• Assisting with managing the welding and joining lab facilities, equipment, and resources).

• Assisting with ordering supplies and other resources.

• Promoting safety in classrooms and labs.

• Attending required online and in-person training and professional development activities.

• Assisting as requested with recruitment and marketing the welding and joining program.

• Assisting students with career planning and placement.

• Must be available during designated work hours.

• Evaluating student progress toward learning outcomes.

• Administering and grading examinations; maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance.

• Engaging with students, staff, and faculty to support student success and address instructional concerns.

• Assisting in the development and review of program content, syllabi, and curriculum standards.

• Supporting recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts, especially for students pursuing careers in forensic science.

• Staying current with industry practices and technologies in forensic science and related fields.

• Participating in professional development activities, including in-service training, workshops, and seminars.

  · Adhere to and enforce policies and procedures outlined by the Technical College System of Georgia and ATC ; and

  · Perform additional duties, as assigned.

  Minimum Qualifications :

  Must possess and demonstrate the following:

  · Weld i ng and Joining Dip l oma AND e xperience in all-position welding: Oxyfuel/ Plasma Cutting Shielded Meta l Arc Welding (SMAW); Gas Metal Arc Weld i ng (GMAW): Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) ; Flux Core Arc Welding a n d Joining i ndustry .

  · E xperie n ce and possession of an American Welding Society (AWS) certificat i on is a plus .

  * May be required to teach at other locations and other locations within the community. *
