WSP USA Transmission Line Project Engineer - Senior Professional in Ft Worth, Texas
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a Transmission Line Project Engineer for our Fort Worth office. Be involved in projects with our Small Utility Services team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our clients' objectives and solves their challenges.
As a Transmission Line Project Engineer, you’ll be entrusted with developing our team members, leading projects, advocating for our clients, and nurturing current connections. Your role will consist of spearheading transmission line design projects for electric cooperative, municipal, and public utility district clients while embodying our commitment to serving local public power utilities. The ideal candidate will assume responsibility for overseeing and executing projects within our department and developing team members in transmission design capabilities.
Your Impact
Take the helm on transmission projects while providing guidance and support to junior engineers and designers
Formulate project scope documents, establish budgets, and create and maintain schedules
Chair client project meetings and facilitate effective communication between clients, managers, and internal teams to ensure project alignment with requirements, scope and schedule
Address client inquiries spanning various technical areas and appropriately manage client expectations
Experience with preparing project work scope documents, schedules, budgets, and sequence of work for construction of projects
Experience with the RUS Transmission Design Guide
Experience managing small to mid-size projects
Experience performing substation, transmission and/or distribution design for electric cooperatives
Exhibit eagerness to expand expertise beyond transmission into other design disciplines
Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience)
5 to 7 years of relevant post education experience as a civil engineer providing design deliverables for large capital projects
Engineer in Training Certification
Demonstrate proficiency in PLS-CADD design software
Demonstrate proficiency in the NESC
A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek
Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Engineering
Essential Professional Licensure/Certification
40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired
