CBRE Government and Defense Services Kitchen Mechanic in Ft. Sam Houston, Texas
Description
General Summary
Performs corrective maintenance on commercial kitchen equipment systems and machinery to keep in optimum operational condition. Work also includes general maintenance and repairs of installed equipment and systems to include electrical, plumbing, compressed gas systems, pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, motors, instrumentation and controls of all aspects of hospital equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Install, inspects, repairs and maintains a variety of commercial kitchen equipment.
Performs preventative maintenance per the manufacturer’s recommendation and other directives.
Knowledge in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting. Reads and interprets blueprints, schematics, and instruction manuals.
Coordinates work and inspections with Lead Maintenance Mechanic.
Possesses basic computer knowledge and skills required to document maintenance and accomplish required training.
Performs or assist in the performance of the following: rebuilding pumps and compressors, replacing bearings and seals, repair or replace plumbing systems or components, install treaded or sweated pipe segments, repair or replace refrigeration components, and perform maintenance of installed irrigation systems.
Maintains the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces, assist others as part of the maintenance team as required.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of computer software programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook desired.
High School Graduate, technical or trade school certificates in related field desired.
Work Environment
Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.
Must be able to pass a local background check and have the ability to obtain and maintain NAC/LAC clearance after hire.
