Siemens Energy Quality Technician - Senior Para-Professional (S3) in Ft. Payne, Alabama
A Snapshot of Your Day
Certified NDE (Nondestructive Examination) Level II in Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT), among others, to provide inspection services both in-process and at final to drawing, specification and/or standard operating procedure within Fort Payne Siemens Energy Electrical Components Plant.
Detailed documentation of all findings and results is encouraged via Quality Forms, Quality Notification, or Service Notifications.
How You’ll Make an Impact
You will provide a variety ofnon-destructive testing techniques on Large Generator Components.
Will evaluate critical to quality (CTQ) dimensionalmeasurements, and parameters using standard and special gauging. PerformNDE inspections to specification or drawing requirement. Document detailedfindings via the appropriate electronic information system.
Will communicate findings and concerns in verbal andwritten form (for example, written report or diagrams).
Will build and update Standard Operation Proceduresand Quality Forms independently or in collaboration with quality andmanufacturing engineers.
Will validate for accuracies and upload NDE reports intimely manner.
Train QA Technicians on VT (visual inspection), UT, PT(Penetrant Testing), PAUT requirements to certify and recertify as levelII.
Work with the level III on new development andapplications for the changing environment in NDE Technology.
Train and master new NDE Technology as required tosupport the business.
Will deal with NDT (Non-destructive Testing) supportequipment, maintenance, and supplies. Will calibrate UT equipment.
Will analyze working environment and propose/implementimprovements. Participates and takes initiative in implementing preventiveand corrective actions, participating in root cause analysis, andproblem-solving methods.
Will work safely and report immediately any safetyconcerns to management.
Required to work overtime and weekends. Must bewilling to temporarily change shifts for training or production needs.
What You Bring
Associate's degree in engineeringor related science field. Or equivalent combination of education andrelevant work experience.
Must be level II certified in PT, VT, UT & PAUT.Experience with Boroscoping techniques is desirable. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2years NDE experience.
Meet Siemens Energy Level II certificationrequirements in the specific NDE method through testing and passing thespecific, general, and practical exams. Provide objective evidence ofhours and level II certification letter or documentation. Must be able tomaintain their level II status.
May be required to travel occasionally in thisposition.
Experience with gauging, drawings, specification,standard operating procedures. Familiar with the metric system formeasurement.
Digital literacy: Microsoft Office proficiency is arequirement. SAP knowledge is a plus.
