Duties and Responsibilities

As the Coordinator, Library Technology, you’ll help ensure that staff and patrons across the library system have the tools and support they need to use technology with confidence. You’ll bring curiosity, patience, and a collaborative spirit to a role that blends problem-solving, communication, and service.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide excellent customer service to library staff, County staff, vendors, and patrons of all ages and backgrounds

  • Coordinate technology needs across all library locations, ensuring smooth daily operations

  • Identify technology gaps and work closely with County IT to request updates, troubleshoot issues, and share important information

  • Create clear, user-friendly guides and written instructions for County technology

  • Track technology projects and keep staff informed about progress and timelines

  • Partner with the Library Training Coordinator to identify and support staff technology training needs

  • Schedule and facilitate Technology User Group meetings, including preparing agendas and sharing minutes

  • Maintain inventory of County-issued devices

  • Research new technology ideas, write business cases, and review logistics for future initiatives

To succeed in this role, you’ll need strong communication skills, a talent for organization, and the ability to work collaboratively with a team. You should feel comfortable supporting people with varying levels of technical experience and enjoy helping others learn. Flexibility, attention to detail, and a willingness to grow are essential.

Education, Experience, Licensing

You’ll qualify with any combination of education and experience equivalent to:

  • High school graduation or GED

  • One year of college-level coursework or training in business or a related field

  • Two years of experience in technology, contract administration, procurement, budgeting, or a closely related area, such as:

  • IT support or technology coordination

  • Purchasing or vendor management

  • Project coordination or administrative support involving technology

  • Budget tracking or financial record-keeping

  • Office or business operations involving technology systems

  • Logistics or inventory management

  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of experience working with library-related technology

Additional Skills

Supplemental Information

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Work Location: Library Administration, Admin East Building, 2201 Second Street, Fort Myers

Retirees of the Investment Plan are eligible for renewed membership in the Investment Plan only. FRS reemployment rules apply for both.
