Description
We are looking for an experienced Public Staff Tax Accountant for a long-term contract position. This role requires expertise in tax preparation and a deep understanding of complex individual and corporate tax returns. The ideal candidate will have advanced proficiency with Drake tax software and be ready to start immediately.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and file individual and corporate tax returns with accuracy and efficiency.
• Utilize Drake tax software to manage tax calculations and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Handle complex tax scenarios, including consolidated returns and federal income tax filings.
• Conduct thorough reviews of tax documents to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial data and address tax-related inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Provide expert guidance on tax strategies and planning to optimize client outcomes.
• Assist in preparing detailed reports and documentation for tax audits.
• Ensure timely submission of all tax filings and related documentation.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with sensitive financial information.
Requirements • Proven experience in tax preparation for individual and corporate clients.
• Advanced knowledge of Drake tax software and its functionalities.
• Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations, including consolidated and complex returns.
• Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in tax filings efficiently.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members.
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tax-related tasks.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
