This is a full-time position with 8-hour shifts during regular business hours (Monday-Friday). Some weekends may be required, and some schedule flexibility may be needed.
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic & Work Order Dispatcher is a dual-function role responsible for performing
routine and preventive maintenance on hospital equipment and systems while also managing the
scheduling and dispatching of work orders for the Engineering Department. This position ensures
timely completion of corrective and preventive maintenance (PMs), coordinates work requests, and
supports operational efficiency across the facility.
What you will do:
Responds to routine work requests, i.e., bed not working, lights out, water leak, etc .
Performs routine preventative maintenance on HVAC, lighting, and other building systems according to established schedules.
Demonstrates willingness to rotate schedule.
Functions as a general repairman.
Performs unrelated work as needed.
Supports the principles of HOST and the Mission Philosophy at all times.
Maintains a clean and safe work area.
Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and parts used.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; technical certification in a relevant field is preferred.
Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic, preferably in a healthcare or similar industry.
Strong knowledge of healthcare equipment, systems, and industry codes and regulations.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in confined spaces.
Flexibility to work on-call or in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CMMS software.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Standing and walking for extended periods.
