Silgan Containers is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, including inventory, shipping, and receiving within a manufacturing warehouse environment.

This Warehouse Supervisor role is responsible for supervising warehouse personnel, coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, and ensuring material handling, storage, and distribution activities are completed safely, accurately, and efficiently in a manufacturing plant setting. The Warehouse Supervisor partners with plant management, production, inventory control, and logistics teams to meet operational, customer, and safety requirements across manufacturing warehouse operations.

What You Will Do as a Warehouse Supervisor in a Manufacturing Warehouse

Provide daily warehouse supervisor oversight of receiving, shipping, inventory control, and material handling operations

Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments of finished goods and materials within the manufacturing warehouse

Supervise warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, staging, and shipment of materials

Ensure accurate preparation and validation of shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading and manifests

Monitor receiving activities to ensure materials are unloaded, staged, inspected, and stored properly

Ensure compliance with warehouse safety procedures, material handling standards, and plant safety initiatives

Maintain forklift safety audits and oversee lift truck operations and preventive maintenance schedules

Manage inventory rotation, dunnage inventory, and space utilization within the warehouse

Coordinate with production, inventory control, inside sales, and plant planning to improve manufacturing workflow

Supervise warehouse staffing levels, work schedules, and daily workflow

Provide employee training, coaching, performance feedback, and documentation as required

Maintain training records, including lift truck and material handling certifications

Assist corporate and plant continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and sanitation standards

Prepare and manage departmental budget requirements and anticipate future material handling needs

Ensure proper handling of hazardous materials and international shipments, as applicable

Maintain accurate records and resolve discrepancies related to receiving, inventory, and shipping documentation

Apply union contract requirements, where applicable

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities:

What You Bring

Associate’s degree

A minimum of three years of experience in warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management within a manufacturing environment

A minimum of two years of supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, receiving processes, inventory control, and material handling practices

Experience working with safety programs and compliance in a manufacturing warehouse environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Familiarity with warehouse management systems, bar code technology, and inventory systems; AS400 experience is a plus

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation accuracy

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing warehouse
