Helper assists senior maintenance technicians in performing general repair and upkeep tasks within vacant military housing units at Fort Carson.
Under supervision, the Helper will:
- Assist with repairing or replacing household appliances such as washers, stoves, and water heaters.
- Carry tools and supplies, clean work areas, and prepare units for repair.
- Help senior staff adjust or replace toilet seats, repair leaking toilets, and fix faucets.
- Assist with unclogging sinks or toilets using basic tools.
- Support mold remediation work by cleaning surfaces with bleach and preparing areas for repainting.
- Hand tools and materials to technicians performing carpentry, electrical, or mechanical repairs.
- Install smoke detector batteries or new units under supervision.
- Perform light labor such as removing debris, repairing window screens, and assisting with floor or stair repairs.
- Perform touch-up painting on walls, ceilings, or small areas as directed by a supervisor.
