Machinist III/IV
Location: Fresno, CA
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt / Hourly
Compensation: $24.00-30.00 (Compensation is based on years of relevant experience and skillset level.)
Position Summary
Trillium Flow Technologies is seeking a skilled Machinist III/IV (Advanced) to support machining operations within our Fresno Machine Shop. Under the direction of the Machine Shop Supervisor, this role is responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to manufacture, modify, and repair pump components. This position requires strong machining fundamentals, the ability to work from complex drawings, and a commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate engine lathes, vertical turret lathes (VTL), mills, radial drill presses, and related special-purpose machine tools, with or without the use of D.R.O. or other computer-enhanced equipment
Demonstrate proficiency in a minimum of two to three work cells (machines), based on operational needs
Plan and perform machining operations for the construction, alteration, and repair of products, jigs, fixtures, and equipment
Accurately interpret complex drawings, sketches, and specifications
Machine parts with little to no quality defects and proactively identify potential issues that may impact quality
Detect and report faulty operations, defective materials, equipment malfunctions, and other unusual conditions to the appropriate Supervisor or Lead
Select, install, and replace cutting tools, drills, taps, grinding tools, blades, sanding belts, and discs as required
Deburr and inspect all parts prior to moving them to the next operation or to Quality Control for final inspection
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area in accordance with safety and housekeeping standards
Complete timekeeping, production, and operational reports or enter required information into designated systems
Comply with all safety requirements and ISO 9001/14001 quality and environmental standards
Perform other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
4-6 years of experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing or repair environment
Technical machinist certification or equivalent hands-on experience
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of metals and machining processes
Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills
Proficiency using precision measuring tools and inspection equipment
Preferred (Plus)
Hands-on experience with manual lathes
Hands-on experience with Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL)
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Requires frequent lifting, pushing, or pulling of heavy objects over 50 pounds.
Involves moderate risks or discomforts such as working around moving parts and rotating equipment.
Routine use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and ear plugs.
Must adhere to all safety precautions and company policies.
