About The Role

We are seeking a Compliance Field Lead to support our growing renewables and utilities practice. This role is ideal for a field-oriented natural resources professional who thrives in dynamic construction environments and enjoys leading field teams while ensuring regulatory compliance.

How We Collaborate

This role may offer a hybrid work setup, blending time in the office with remote work as business needs evolve. We enjoy coming together in person to collaborate, connect with teammates, and partner with clients, and may prioritize candidates who live within 50 miles of a Rincon office. Eligible office locations for this role includes Fresno.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily biological and environmental compliance monitoring on renewable energy and linear infrastructure construction sites.

  • Coordinate and direct teams of field monitors to ensure adherence to permit conditions and environmental commitments.

  • Conduct pre-construction surveys, construction monitoring, and post-construction compliance inspections.

  • Monitor for special-status species, sensitive habitats, and jurisdictional resources in accordance with project approvals.

  • Implement avoidance and minimization measures consistent with CEQA, NEPA, ESA, CESA, and Clean Water Act requirements.

  • Serve as the primary field liaison with contractors, project managers, and agency representatives regarding environmental compliance.

  • Prepare and review compliance documentation, including daily logs and summary reports, ensuring accuracy and QA/QC consistency.

What You’ll Bring

  • B.A./B.S. in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field.

  • 2–5+ years of environmental consulting experience with substantial construction monitoring and field-based compliance work.

  • Working knowledge of California biological resources, special-status species, and environmental permitting frameworks (CEQA, NEPA, ESA/CESA, Clean Water Act).

  • Experience supporting renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects.

  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail in compliance documentation and reporting.

  • Ability to lead field efforts, coordinate with contractors and agencies, and work effectively in active construction environments.

  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.

Nice To Have (Optional)

  • Experience serving as Lead Monitor or Environmental Inspector on active construction sites.

  • Burrowing owl and/or Swainson’s hawk special-status species survey and monitoring experience.

  • Certification as a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) or similar environmental compliance credential.

Investing In You

The base salary range for this full-time position is $66,000–$94,000, plus a generous benefits program. Salary ranges are based on the market median of similar jobs, according to third-party salary benchmark surveys. Base pay is determined based on internal equity and a candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
