Actalent Thermal Engineering Technician in Fremont, California

Join our dynamic engineering team as a highly motivated Technician, supporting accelerated product durability testing. This hands-on role involves assembling and disassembling vehicle components, building test fixtures, and executing tests. A successful candidate should have a passion for learning and developing new skills. Collaboration is key as all team members work together to implement effective solutions quickly.
Responsibilities
Execute tests, including setup, inspections, maintenance, and retrofits.
Document and report any issues identified during tests or inspections.
Collaborate with engineers to resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
Support engineers in instrumentation and data acquisition.
Assist and learn from other technicians and engineers.
Assemble and wire test fixtures.
Read and interpret wiring diagrams.
Work with fabrication equipment such as drills and band saws.
Communicate effectively with excellent written and verbal skills.
Utilize measurement tools such as multi-meters, force gauges, and torque wrenches.
Essential Skills
Proficiency with mechanical and electrical systems.
Knowledge of Ohm's Law and electrical concepts.
Experience with hand and power tools.
Ability to use basic measurement tools like calipers and digital multimeters.
Analytical problem-solving skills.
Basic experience with MS Office tools (Outlook/Excel/Word).
Strong organizational skills.
Experience with low voltage components and CAN communication.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with thermal sensors.
Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot mechanical systems.
Work Environment
The work environment is primarily lab-based, with a desk situated within the lab. The facility is undergoing some construction, but chambers and equipment will remain operational. This role offers a long-term career path, encouraging technicians to ask questions and pursue personal growth.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fremont, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
