Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Freeport, Illinois
Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift
Industrial Manufacturing | Electrical & Mechanical Maintenance
We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician to support production equipment and gas/fire furnaces used in molding operations. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician with strong electrical troubleshooting skills who enjoys keeping critical manufacturing systems running safely and efficiently.
What You’ll Do
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on gas and fire furnaces
Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic system issues
Diagnose circuits ranging from 24 VDC to 1000 VAC
Use electrical testing tools (multimeters, amp clamps, meggers)
Read and work from electrical prints, schematics, and blueprints
Install and run EMT and IMC conduit
Support equipment using Rockwell Automation VFDs and PLCs
Assist with PLC troubleshooting
Build and repair electrical panels from prints
Perform mechanical repairs, welding, and basic fabrication
Document repairs and support continuous improvement efforts
Follow NFPA / 70E electrical safety standards
What We’re Looking For
Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong electrical troubleshooting experience
Experience with conduit, panel work, and 3‑phase power
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Comfortable working around heavy equipment and furnaces
Strong problem‑solving and safety focus
Preferred: PLC experience, robotics exposure, welding/fabrication skills, forging or heavy industry experience
Schedule & Environment
2nd Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.
Manufacturing facility (not temperature controlled)
Hands‑on work with furnaces, industrial equipment, and tools
Safety‑driven, production‑floor environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $83200.00/yr.
Drug Test Required; Background Check Required - ITAR compliance no certs no medical PPE: Steel Toes, Safety Glasses
