Aerotek Welder Fabricator in Fredericksburg, Virginia

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder Fabricator to support manufacturing operations for defense-related programs. This role involves welding and fabricating components from a variety of metals while meeting strict quality, safety, and documentation standards. The ideal candidate produces high‑quality welds, reads fabrication drawings accurately, and thrives in a regulated, precision-driven environment.

1st shift - Pay range will depend on experience ($18 - $28)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding (GMAW) on a variety of metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys

  • Fabricate, fit, and weld assemblies according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols

  • Set up welding equipment and adjust parameters based on material type and thickness

  • Cut, grind, prep, and finish materials using hand and power tools

  • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications

  • Maintain detailed documentation for work orders, travelers, and inspection records

  • Support first-article inspections and quality audits as required

  • Comply with ITAR , defense-industry regulations, and company quality standards

  • Follow all safety protocols , including PPE and shop safety requirements

  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and cross-functional teamwork

  • Operate various machines including but not limited to; press brake, plasma, lathe, mill, drill press, mig and stick welder, bandsaw, various power tools etc.

Requirements:

  • General mechanical knowledge

  • Plasma Machine knowledge

  • Skilled in mig, stick and tig welding

  • Must be able to read blueprints and execute requirements

  • Can work with layouts and developments

  • At least 2 years experience as a fabricator/boilermaker

  • Good communication skills

  • Competent in the use of excel, word, office.

  • Can take initiative to find various solutions to a specific problem.

  • Works well with others

  • Trustworthy and Reliable

**Experience working with carbon steel and aluminum is preferred but not required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $28.00/hr.
