How Will You Make an Impact?
The Material Handler I supports operations by storing and shipping materials at temperatures ranging from ambient (room temperature) to -196 degrees C with potentially hazardous properties.
A Day in the Life:
::: section ::: {ph-at-id="jobdescription-text" ph-id="ph-page-element-page8-PxXyxf" au-target-id="450"} - Receive incoming raw materials - Facilitate movement of materials, including hazardous materials, across the site - Maintain accurate inventory through receipts, adjustments, and cycle counts - Main job function is package movement and delivery throughout our Frederick campus - Site delivery driving, pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and/or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements - Sustain a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested. - Verify the quality, type and number of materials received are accurate and appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list). - Safely operate distribution equipment, as required ::: :::
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Required: No previous work experience required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
::: section ::: {ph-at-id="jobdescription-text" ph-id="ph-page-element-page8-PxXyxf" au-target-id="450"} - Able to work in a cold environment with exposure to dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, hazardous and infectious agents, and marked changes in temperature - Must use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to safety protocols - Able to lift and carry 50 lbs and push up to 70 lbs - Periodically work in walk-in freezers and refrigerators for up to 5 hours per day - PIT equipment will be in use ::: :::
