Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will provide mechanical services related to facilities for a manufacturing/distribution site. This includes equipment and facility installation, repair, and preventative maintenance. The position is a 1st shift role, scheduled from Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a complete understanding and working knowledge of all infrastructure systems and operations at the facility.

  • Respond to site infrastructure equipment alarms and execute repair or mitigation.

  • Ensure that the critical environment is restored to its original maintenance appearance.

  • Support site customer infrastructure facility needs to ensure continuous operations.

  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and building systems as established in department procedures.

  • Be available for an emergency on-call rotation.

  • Provide guidance and training to lower-level personnel.

  • Maintain working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, pure steam generators, autoclaves, and glassware washers.

  • Monitor critical plant systems and perform daily meter readings.

  • Maintain records of building operations, repairs, parts, and equipment.

  • Assist with the creation of Preventive Maintenance documents and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Accurately maintain records within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Perform other services necessary to maintain all mission-critical related infrastructure.

Essential Skills

  • Proven working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration equipment/systems.

  • Compliance with FDA, EHS, cGMP, and ISO regulations.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong working knowledge of site Building Management Systems (BMS) and CMMS.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Certification in multiple relevant mechanical and/or electrical trades.

  • Current CFC certification.

  • Ability to develop reliability reports to identify areas of concern.

  • Soft skills: communication, problem-solving, demeanor, pace, influencing skills, leadership skills, and negotiating skills.

  • Ability to work independently, in a group setting, with little direction, or with direct supervision.

  • Valid driver's license.

Work Environment

Work takes place in a laboratory environment where lifting up to 40 lbs may be required. Employees may need to stand for long periods and work safely with chemicals and hazardous materials. Work on rooftops in varying weather conditions is necessary. The noise level is generally low to moderate, with occasional high noise periods requiring hearing protection. This is a Contract position based out of Frederick, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
