The Pediatric Movement Center is seeking a compassionate, skilled Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C) to join our transdisciplinary pediatric rehabilitation team. This clinician will provide functionally focused, family-centered clinical social work services designed to improve children's emotional regulation, behavioral skills, participation in therapy, and overall functional independence within daily routines.
Position Overview
The LCSW-C will conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial and functional assessments to evaluate emotional, behavioral, and regulatory functioning as it relates to participation in therapy and home environments. Based on assessment findings, the clinician will develop individualized, measurable intervention plans and monitor progress for children on their caseload.
Interventions are delivered using developmentally appropriate, play-based approaches informed by DIR/Floortime and CBT-based principles, with emphasis on behavioral skill development, self-regulation, coping strategies, caregiver coaching, and functional participation. The clinician will maintain thorough clinical documentation and provide caregiver education and home-based strategies to support carryover.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and collaboration within a transdisciplinary team including Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech-Language Pathologists to ensure integrated, high-quality care.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Licensure
Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program
Licensed Certified Social Worker–Clinical (LCSW-C) in the State of Maryland, in good standing
Experience (Preferred)
1+ years of clinical experience working with children and families in pediatric, outpatient, medical, or related settings
Experience or training in play-based therapy, behavioral interventions, DIR/Floortime, and/or CBT-informed approaches
Proficiency in pediatric biopsychosocial and functional assessments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities
Provide independent clinical services within Maryland licensure scope
Develop and implement individualized, functionally focused treatment plans
Deliver evidence-informed interventions to improve emotional regulation, safety, participation, and independence
Provide caregiver coaching and education
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
Collaborate with PT, OT, and SLP team members to support integrated care plans
Participate in team meetings, care planning, and program development
Uphold ethical and professional standards in accordance with the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners and the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics
Physical Requirements
Moderate physical activity including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and floor-based engagement for play therapy. Ability to safely assist pediatric patients and interact actively within a clinic environment.
