Job Title: 2nd Shift CNC Operator
Job Description
This role operates CNC lathes and turning centers in a manufacturing environment to produce high-quality parts. The CNC Operator sets up and runs equipment, performs tool changes and offsets, and uses precision measuring tools to verify part quality. The position also supports production flow by loading and unloading parts and preparing them for shipment while working collaboratively with the production team on a second-shift schedule.
Responsibilities
Operate CNC lathes and turning centers in a manufacturing environment to produce parts according to specifications.
Assist with CNC machine operations, including loading and unloading parts from the machines.
Perform tool changes and adjust machine offsets to maintain accurate and efficient production.
Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to inspect parts and verify that they meet quality standards.
Prepare finished parts for shipment, including handling, staging, and organizing components as required.
Monitor machine performance during the shift and report any issues, irregularities, or maintenance needs.
Follow established production schedules and work instructions to meet deadlines and output goals.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including participating in end-of-shift clean-up activities.
Work collaboratively with team members to complete orders and support overall production goals.
Adhere to all safety procedures and quality standards while operating machinery and handling parts.
Essential Skills
At least 3+ years of experience operating CNC lathes and turning centers in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience performing tool changes and adjusting offsets on CNC equipment.
A minimum of 6+ months of hands-on experience using precision measuring tools, including micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
Solid understanding of CNC machine operation, production processes, and basic troubleshooting.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions and production schedules.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts.
Ability to work effectively on a second-shift schedule.
Reliable attendance and the ability to work additional hours as needed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
Comfort using a variety of precision measurement tools for in-process and final inspections.
Willingness to support different tasks on the production floor, including part handling and preparation for shipment.
High level of mechanical aptitude and interest in machining and manufacturing processes.

Work Environment
This is a second-shift position in a manufacturing facility operating Monday through Thursday, with additional hours on Fridays if needed. The standard shift runs from 3:15 p.m. to 1:45 a.m., with scheduled breaks at 6:15 p.m.–6:30 p.m., a lunch period from 8:45 p.m.–9:15 p.m., and a second break from 11:50 p.m.–12:00 a.m., followed by clean-up from 1:35 a.m.–1:45 a.m. The work takes place on a production floor with CNC lathes and turning centers and involves regular use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges. Team members work closely together to meet production goals and maintain a clean and organized work area.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Franklin, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
