Fuel your career with GEODIS and discover endless growth opportunities.Your role on the team:Serves as the customer service liaison between the Company and the customerProcesses Custom and OGA (other government agency) entries for clearance of goods into the United StatesOpens files, enters notes, information and document requests in Cargowise and/or AS400 systemClassifies invoice based on HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule)Sends information/document requests to company's employees, suppliers, service providers and/or U.S. Government agencies as neededCommunicates with specified offices, departments, and teams on all issues affecting customs brokerageFiles document requests, correspondence and documents in a file folder identified by the applicable shipping/reference numberEnsures compliance with regard to U.S. Government regulatory agencies such as FDA, EPA, FCC, Fish & Wildlife, etc.Coordinates shipping details with U.S. Forwarders, Steamship Lines, Airlines, Agents, etc.Convert and verify shipment weight, volume and foreign currencyMaintain communication with customers, carriers and vendorsCoordinate pick-ups and invoice filesAssist customers with questions, complaints, requests, tracking and tracingHandles accounting processes accurately and in a timely mannerCoordination of shipments from airline, ocean piers and CFS (container freight station) to customer/consignee destinationReview documentation or issue documents to meet government regulations and carrier regulationsMust have knowledge of buying/selling rates to ensure profitabilityEnsure email and telephone calls are promptly and politely answeredWhat you need:Minimum 3 years experience in customs brokerage or an equivalent combination of both education and experience.Knowledge of U.S. Government Agency requirementsKnowledge of U.S. Customs and OGA clearance of freightPC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Work, Access and ExcelExcellent written and oral communication skills that demonstrate a proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external customersExcellent planning and organizational skillsAbility to read and interpret documentsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formAbility to multitaskMathematical skills essential to ensure accuracy in calculationsWhat you gain from joining our team:Access wages early with the Rain financial wellness appFree telemedical access to doctors and therapists through First Stop Health is available on the first day of employmentHealth, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days of employment401k matchPaid maternity and parental leaveAccess to career development, employee resource groups, and mentorship programsEmployee discountsAccess to employee perks like fitness class discounts and free access to a relaxation and meditation appFree financial wellness programsDaycare discount programOpportunities to volunteer and give back to your community+ more!Join our Team!Visit our website at workatGEODIS.com and chat with our virtual recruiter, Sophie, to fast-track your way to an interview!ORText DELIVER to 88300 to apply!
