Job Title: Fabricator Welder

Department: Welding / Fabrication Reports To: Production Manager

Position Summary The Fabricator Welder is responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding metal parts and assemblies according to blueprints, work instructions, and production requirements. This position uses measuring tools, hand tools, and welding equipment to produce quality parts safely and efficiently while meeting company standards for workmanship and productivity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, sketches, and work orders
  • Measure, mark, cut, fit, and assemble metal parts to required specifications
  • Perform tack welding and finish welding on parts and assemblies
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Mig, Tig, and Flux Core weld processes.
  • Align and secure components using clamps, fixtures, jigs, magnets, or other tools
  • Operate welding machines, grinders, saws, and other fabrication equipment as needed
  • Verify dimensions, squareness, angles, and fit using measuring tools
  • Inspect materials and completed work for quality, accuracy, and conformance to specifications
  • Clean and prepare surfaces for welding, grinding, and finishing
  • Report material defects, drawing discrepancies, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the supervisor
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Assist with moving materials and completed parts as needed
  • Ability to safely operate overhead crane and forklift
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2-5 years previous welding and fabrication experience preferred
  • Ability to read a tape measure and use measuring tools accurately
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
  • Ability to perform industrial math involving imperial and metric units of measure, fractions, decimals, and basic geometry
  • Basic knowledge of welding methods, fabrication processes, and metalworking tools
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and lift throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, noise, sparks, dust, and fumes
  • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, gloves, welding hood, and steel-toe shoes

Work Environment This position works in a manufacturing and fabrication environment and may be exposed to moving equipment, loud noise, heat, and industrial materials. Team members are expected to follow all safety procedures and quality standards at all times. Schedule

Full-time, M-Fri, 7am-3pm

*Compensation will be determined based on experience. On-the-job training may be provided for a qualified candidate.
