Robert Half Staff Accountant in Franklin, Massachusetts

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Long-term Contract position based in Franklin, Massachusetts. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys balancing day-to-day transactional work with month-end accounting support in a collaborative environment. The role will contribute to accurate financial reporting, maintain the integrity of general ledger activity, and assist with additional accounting projects as business needs evolve.

Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely processing, accurate coding, and proper reconciliation of transactions.

• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain complete and accurate accounting records across the general ledger.

• Assist with month-end close tasks, including account analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, and support for financial reporting deadlines.

• Review financial data for accuracy and investigate discrepancies to help maintain reliable accounting information.

• Support corporate tax and sales tax related activities, including gathering documentation and assisting with filings and compliance requirements.

• Contribute to the preparation of corporate tax return support schedules and other documentation needed for external reporting.

• Partner with internal stakeholders on special accounting assignments and ad hoc projects as priorities shift.

• Help maintain organized records and documentation to support audits, compliance reviews, and internal controls. Requirements • Experience in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role with hands-on responsibility for general ledger activity.

• Working knowledge of journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, and month-end close support.

• Background in accounts payable and accounts receivable processes within a business environment that requires strong attention to detail.

• Familiarity with corporate tax, sales tax, and documentation related to corporate tax return support.

• Ability to analyze accounting information, identify inconsistencies, and resolve issues with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet tools used for reporting, reconciliations, and transaction tracking.

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a Long-term Contract assignment.
