Actalent Senior Document Control Specialist in Franklin, Massachusetts

Document Control SpecialistJob Overview

We are seeking an experienced Document Control Specialist to support and maintain quality systems within a regulated life sciences environment. This role will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and day‑to‑day support of MasterControl, as well as hands‑on document control activities across the full document lifecycle. The ideal candidate brings strong MasterControl system expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments.

Key ResponsibilitiesMasterControl System Administration

  • Support, maintain, and update procedures related to the use and administration of MasterControl

  • Serve as a Subsystem Administrator (e.g., Document Module, Training Module), resolving system and end‑user issues with support from MasterControl technical resources as needed

  • Ensure efficient operation of MasterControl modules and evaluate opportunities for process improvements or system enhancements

  • Create, maintain, and manage MasterControl users, roles, and permissions

  • Assist with the implementation of new MasterControl modules and system upgrades

  • Train employees on proper MasterControl usage in accordance with approved processes and procedures

Document Control & Quality Support

  • Perform document control activities in alignment with company SOPs, including the full lifecycle management of quality documents, records, and associated training

  • Coordinate with departments across the organization to ensure secure storage, controlled distribution, and orderly maintenance of quality documents

  • Communicate promptly and professionally with internal staff regarding document control and quality documentation matters

  • Work with document authors and originators to resolve discrepancies and compile required document revisions

  • Maintain master files of both electronic and hard‑copy controlled documents

  • Collaborate with department managers, laboratory teams, and operations to support business and compliance needs

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of industry experience working with MasterControl in a life science, biotech, or regulated environment

  • Associate’s degree in a scientific discipline

  • Hands‑on experience with document control, quality assurance, and GMP environments

  • Familiarity with batch records, SOPs, data entry, and controlled documentation

  • Experience with SAP and laboratory documentation is a plus

  • Strong database management and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross‑functional teams

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Quality Systems, including document control, change management, and training administration

  • Prior experience supporting audits or inspections

  • Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Franklin, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.
