Summary: This role is responsible for leading the safe, efficient, and reliable execution of the site mine plan by aligning daily operational activities with plan specifications, production targets, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Foreman Production provides visible leadership to mining department employees while operating within established budgets, mine plans, and production schedules, and promotes a culture of safety, productivity, cost control, and quality.

Essential Job Functions: Include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide visible leadership and consistently promote safe, productive work

  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and MSHA regulations by enforcing company policies, procedures and standards.

  • Demonstrate leadership in achieving safety, health and environmental goals through regular safety conversations, coaching, and communication of regulatory and compliance expectations.

  • Investigate safety incidents and near misses and oversee implementation of corrective actions.

  • Conduct safety/toolbox meetings at the beginning of each shift to communicate hazards, work plans, and best practices.

  • Supervise a unionized workforce of approximately 12-20 employees in a 24/7 operation, providing effective people leadership through clear performance expectations, regular feedback, coaching, and development.

  • Support employee engagement and growth by developing skills, knowledge, and capabilities to maximize individual and team performance.

  • Manage workforce attendance and coverage by monitoring punctuality, enforcing attendance standards, and implementing established procedures and contingency plans to address absences.

  • Foster team involvement and engagement, address employee concerns and grievances in a timely manner, and administer site progressive disciplinary policies.

  • Execute mine development and operational activities in accordance with mine plan specifications by managing resource utilization, cost control, and team accountability.

  • Maintain clean and organized work areas, ensuring work is conducted in accordance with established procedures.

  • Achieve assigned production targets through effective shift planning, work allocation, cross-shift coordination, and proactive identification and resolution of operational and resource allocation issues.

  • Obtain and maintain required explosive licensing and supervise the safe receiving, handling, and loading of explosives in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.

  • Perform other related duties as

Minimum Required Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • 2 year technical Associate’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3 years of underground mining experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years of relevant mining or supervisory

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mining or related field.

  • Demonstrated leadership and people management capability.
