Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Franklin, Indiana. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting core accounting functions and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to utilize your expertise in corporate tax and general ledger management.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Manage and process sales tax filings, addressing any discrepancies that arise.
• Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain the accuracy of financial records.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including account reconciliations and adjustments.
• Provide support for tax-related audits and inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure the seamless execution of accounting processes.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial data to maintain data integrity.
• Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies and external regulatory requirements. Requirements • Strong experience in preparing corporate and sales tax returns.
• Proficiency in recording and reconciling journal entries.
• Solid understanding of general ledger management and financial recordkeeping.
• Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance standards.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
