Howden Turbo is looking for a top performer and innovative business developer to maximize our rapidly expanding business within marine compression. The Marine Business Development Engineer will be responsible for supporting the sales execution of our current portfolio, and further expand the product offerings within Marine compression by building a bridge between the marine market and our execution and R&D teams.Success will be achieved through thorough key contacts in the marine industry, understanding of trends in the marine industry, familiarity of customer needs, knowledge of the competitive environment, and the ability to maximize the growth of our marine portfolio.The ideal candidate must have deep experience in Marine component sales, preferably has a good understanding of centrifugal blower technology, and has the skills to help us generate new business with existing products and new product developments.
What Will You Do?
In order to become successful you should:
Contribute to the sales and product development strategy for our marine centrifugal compressor products in conjunction with current channels, strategic partners and the wider Chart commercial sales organization
Develop business cases and pricing strategies for new product developments and product modification proposals in close collaboration with relevant internal and external stakeholders
Centrifugal Compressor Product configuration and bidding in response to RFQs from clients
Scan, analyze and report market trends using databases and tools such as Clarksons and other sources
Build effective working relationships and communication lines with the wider Chart commercial sales team, technical departments, research and development, execution team and Marketing.
Network with customers, business partners and relevant stakeholders
Train and update internal stakeholders about trends, developments and structures in the marine industry.
Co-operate closely with the technical departments on topics of marine approval requirements with the various classes
Your Experience Should Be...
5+ years of technical sales experience in the marine industry, preferably in the area of two-stroke engines, exhaust gas recirculation systems and/or air lubrication systems.
Technical understanding of centrifugal compressors and knowledge of the competitive landscape
Strong strategic thinking including analytical and financial planning skills
Experience in driving and continuously improving sales processes
A strong network in the marine industry and an ability to build long term strategic relationships
Ability to adapt and work effectively within a changing and growing environment
A passion for environmental protection and green shipping
