D&W Fine Pack Machine Operator (Technician) in Fountain Inn, South Carolina
Description
We have an immediate opportunity for a Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will operate and troubleshoot machinery used to produce high-quality food packaging products. This position is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn specialized processes.
Pay & Schedule:
Pay based on experience + $0.75/hour night shift differential (if applicable)
12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:15 PM or 7:00 PM–7:15 AM)
Every other weekend off
Key Responsibilities
Safely operate thermoforming and extrusion equipment in accordance with plant safety procedures, PPE requirements, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols
Start, stop, monitor, and adjust machines to ensure efficient operation; troubleshoot basic issues and report malfunctions to a supervisor
Follow emergency procedures for power outages, equipment failures, and workplace incidents; report all safety concerns or injuries immediately
Read job specifications and maintain proper machine settings to support production efficiency, meet production goals, and minimize scrap
Feed materials, monitor machine speeds, and perform general production tasks including packing products as needed
Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications, GMP standards, and food safety requirements
Complete logs, reports, and required documentation accurately
Handle materials and operate equipment such as lift trucks (or willingness to learn)
Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform basic preventive maintenance tasks
Communicate operational, safety, and quality issues promptly and assist team members as needed
Participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives, including hazard identification and food safety programs
Qualifications
2+ years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Willingness to learn new equipment and processes
Ability to follow instructions and work safely
Basic computer skills
Flexibility to work overtime and rotating shifts
