ManpowerGroup Mechanical Design Engineer (DFS) in Foster City, California
Our client, an innovative leader in the automotive and transportation industry, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the Service Engineering Department supporting vehicle design, maintenance, and operational efficiency initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams, which will align successfully in the organization.

Pay Range: $68-72/h + Benefits
What's the Job?
Drive the Design for Serviceability (DFS) by evaluating form, fit, function, and access of vehicle components.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Vehicle Engineering, Manufacturing, and Industrial Design to optimize product design for serviceability.
Manage inspection and maintenance programs for fleet vehicles, ensuring efficiency and safety compliance.
Develop comprehensive reports, including cost and time models, to identify opportunities for repair process improvements.
Work with technical teams to establish repair processes and maintain the Service Bill of Materials (BOM) for spare parts planning.
What's Needed?
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
4 to 6 years of engineering experience, preferably within a service engineering organization.
Strong 3D CAD skills, with CATIA experience considered a plus.
Solid understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems, and familiarity with industry standards and safety protocols.
Excellent documentation skills and the ability to work independently on projects.
