ManpowerGroup Fleet Support Engineer in Foster City, California
Our client, a leading innovator in transportation technology, is seeking a Fleet Support Engineer to join their team. As a Fleet Support Engineer, you will be part of the R&D department supporting vehicle platform development and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Fleet Support Engineer
Location: Foster City, CA
Pay Range: $83 per hour
What's the Job?
Lead deep-dive root cause analysis of complex vehicle failures across various vehicle systems including Chassis, Powertrain, High Voltage, and CAN architectures.
Perform physical diagnostics using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and insulation testers to validate harness integrity and signal quality.
Analyze CAN bus traffic to identify system dropouts and debug HMI issues to ensure proper driver input interpretation.
Validate fixes for hard-to-reproduce bugs involving thermal throttling, battery management systems, and regenerative braking anomalies.
Support the integration of new hardware revisions onto the R&D platform, ensuring system compatibility and performance.
What's Needed?
Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in transportation, aerospace, or autonomous vehicles, with a focus on chassis or suspension systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Engineering.
Ability to safely troubleshoot low voltage and high voltage systems.
Hands-on experience with chassis systems, including suspension, steering, and braking.
Proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics, harness diagrams, and state machine diagrams.
