We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager BFCR, Insurance.
Principal responsibilities
Work closely with CDD and EDD Analysts and Quality Control (QC) to support Insurance Quality Assurance, ensuring high-quality customer CDD/EDD profiles in line with HSBC policies and standards across onboarding and periodic reviews; Share team management responsibilities with EDD & QC team manager
Support the design and ongoing enhancement of the Quality Assurance operating model, ensuring consistent adoption of standards across all entity markets
Provide governance and oversight of market CDD/EDD outcomes to drive consistent and satisfactory quality
Co-work with EDD&QC team manager to provide management support to the team, i.e. case prioritization & coaching
Conduct quality assurance and thematic reviews to confirm consistent application of CDD/EDD policies and procedures
Perform sampling to assess the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of CDD/EDD data captured during onboarding, periodic reviews, and event-driven reviews
Produce, track, and analyze sampling results; provide clear feedback and agree actions with relevant stakeholders in markets and ASP (e.g., CCO, Business Management, Front Office, CDD/EDD, BFCR, FCC, and Tax)
Develop and deliver targeted training on key concepts and recurring issues in the CDD/EDD due diligence process (e.g., Source of Wealth, financial crime indicators, tax transparency, CRS, and FATCA)
Partner with stakeholders across markets and ASP to provide guidance and clarification on CDD/EDD policy requirements and expected standards
Support internal and external audits and second line of defence reviews relating to CDD/EDD, including coordinating responses and ensuring consistent implementation of agreed recommendations
Identify opportunities to streamline CDD/EDD workflows and procedures to improve end-to-end efficiency and productivity
Deliver ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned
Requirements
Minimum 6–8 years’ experience in banking or insurance with relevant AML/KYC exposure (e.g., CDD, EDD, screening), including at least 5 years’ experience conducting quality reviews of client profiling (CDD/EDD) across customer types such as Individuals, Entities, Trusts, and Personal Investment Companies/Vehicles (PIC/PIV). Team management experience is an advantage.
Strong knowledge and practical experience of KYC/AML regulations
Candidates with strong Source of Wealth (SoW) validation experience for High-Net-Worth (HNW) customers and insurance product knowledge are preferred
Ability to implement Operational Risk Management Framework, Group risk management policies and procedures
Experienced in the risk management field, with a proven ability to support business growth while consistently applying robust risk management disciplines and controls.
Strong data analytics skill
Ability to deliver at pace with a strong focus on results, while managing multiple priorities
Ability to handle crisis situations and make appropriate, timely decisions
Proactive and business-oriented, with the ability to prioritise and manage conflicting demands; able to assess stakeholder needs to improve customer experience; resilient under pressure and able to provide best-in-class solutions
Ability to work well under pressure with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to execute and deliver project tasks within budget and timelines, with high-quality outputs
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a customer-centric approach
Proficient in English, Cantonese and Manderin
Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively within WPB and across lines of business
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
What additional skills will be good to have?
Certification in AML/CFT-related courses will be an added advantage
Experience with, or the ability to apply, RegTech and/or AI solutions will be an added advantage
Proficiency in additional languages relevant to key markets will be an added advantage
