As a Senior Infrastructure Asset Management Analyst, you will be an integral member of a highly collaborative team responsible for delivering innovative, data driven asset management solutions for our transportation partners, including state departments of transportation, tollways, airports, and transit agencies. You will perform technical analyses and modeling supporting the development of asset deterioration models, lifecycle planning analyses, scenario analyses, and trade-off analyses. You will be a skilled listener able to understand data and inspection standards, and business requirements that support strategic and informed decision making across diverse transportation asset portfolios.
In today’s rapidly evolving environment, where agencies increasingly rely on big data, analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, you will help clients navigate their data rich environments with confidence. Your modeling and analysis abilities will be used to uncover patterns, highlight trends, and contribute to analytical frameworks that enhance asset performance, reliability, and long term investment strategies. You will use your knowledge of statistics, model development, and data to perform lifecycle analyses and financial infrastructure investment analyses in support of the development of predictive and proactive decision making tools to enhance our clients informed, timely, and efficient stewardship of their transportation assets.
In this role, you will:
Lead high-impact asset management projects and deliver advanced solutions for complex and large-scale business challenges. You will be responsible for managing project tasks, defining scope and technical approaches, and ensuring successful delivery of high-quality, scalable asset management solutions.
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary project teams and client stakeholders to define asset related data, analysis and modeling strategies, and technology strategies that align with the needs of DOTs, tollways, airports, and rail/transit agencies.
Support the development of federally compliant asset management plans, asset hierarchies, data dictionaries, RACI matrices, condition assessment standards, service life analyses, and technical reports that guide infrastructure owners in the optimization of their investments.
Provide technical expertise and support to project teams performing research, data analysis, modeling, and risk based assessment activities that help transportation agencies allocate resources effectively and improve system performance.
Apply your technical expertise in data and statistical analyses and scenario modeling to strengthen innovation and elevate the quality of project deliverables.
As part of HNTB’s Chicago based Asset Management team, you will help deliver high quality program and project-based outcomes across all transportation modes. Your contributions will shape practical, data informed solutions that advance the mission of transportation agencies nationwide and position you for continued growth within enterprise level initiatives. This role bridges technical execution with strategic planning and plays a key part in advancing enterprise asset management through leadership, innovation, and mentorship.
What You'll Do:
Leads end-to-end development of data engineering solutions for high-impact business problems.
Defines data strategy, architecture, and deployment plans.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into enterprise systems.
Provides technical leadership and mentorship across the data engineering team.
Drives innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies.
Ensures data governance, compliance, and performance optimization.
Communicates complex solutions and insights to executive stakeholders.
Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field and 7 years of related experience, or,
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field and 6 years of related experience, or,
In lieu of education, 11 years of relevant experience.
What You’ll Bring
Demonstrated ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
Technical proficiency with the use of statistics to support different data modeling and technical analysis approaches to support programmatic lifecycle analyses, trade-off analyses, and scenario modeling.
Technical proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or R, with demonstrated ability to work across structured and unstructured datasets.
Ability to understand and work with data within different datasets to ensure clean, high quality data is used in your analysis.
Experience building and maintaining data models related to asset hierarchies, data dictionaries, condition rating systems, or performance models for roadway, bridge, aviation, and/or transit assets.
Familiarity, understanding and ability to use or learn spatial analysis tools, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related geospatial extensions for asset inventory, condition analysis, and visualization.
High level interpersonal skills, including strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to develop highly technical asset management reports and plans.
What We Prefer
Familiarity with asset management frameworks and standards, such as ISO 55000, AASHTO TAM Guide, FAA asset management guidance, or FTA transit asset management requirements.
Understanding of how transportation agencies collect and manage data to support Enterprise Asset Management systems (EAM) systems, including configuration, data integration, reporting, or analytics capabilities.
Professional certifications (preferred but not required) such as:
IAM Certificate or Diploma in Asset Management
ArcGIS technical certifications
Project Management Professional (PMP)
Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or similar credentials

The approximate pay range for the Greater Seattle, WA Metro Area is $126,942.61 - $198,551.24. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.

The approximate pay range for Illinois is $121,423.35 - $189,918.58. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.
