GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The SBA and USDA Loan Officer II is responsible for working with current and prospective customers to identify SBA and USDA loan opportunities across the Banks footprint or within the assigned regions. This role is responsible for originating SBA and USDA loans, preparing detailed loan memos, and conducting initial prescreens. The role also involves evaluating borrower eligibility based on SBA Standard Operating Procedures and USDA guidelines, as well as submitting loan requests to SBA/USDA staff for processing and ongoing servicing.

Perform all functions in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the regulations, credit policies, policies and procedures, and the SBA SOP at Centennial Bank.
Originate SBA 7a, SBA 504, and USDA BandI Loans in assigned regions and/or territories at an appropriate volume in alignment with production goals set by the President of the SBA and USDA Department.
Safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information and data pertaining to customers, prospective clients, employees, and Centennial Bank operations.
Demonstrate expertise in SBA 7(a) loan programs, including associated products and services, along with working knowledge of SBA 504 and USDA Rural Development One (RDOne) programs.
Discuss loan requests with the SBA/USDA Department Manager to assess viability, including preparation and submission of Write-Ups, Memos, and Prescreen materials.
Support SBA Credit Analyst/Underwriter and Closing Specialist in gathering documentation required to complete the loan application and closing process.
Determine which documentation is required in accordance with loan size and collateral, and construction (if applicable); create the nCino application/file/folder, upload application forms and documents.
Ensure timely communication with all related parties throughout the loan process, including complaint management relating to SBA and USDA loan products and services offered.
Maintain ongoing communication and foster strong relationships throughout the SBA/USDA loan process, including coordination of initial and annual site inspections.
Attend networking/social events (including some nights/weekends) and provide marketing material to identify referral sources.
Maintain strong relationships with customers, Loan Officers, and Portfolio Managers, while assisting with SBA/USDA loan structuring and providing lender training and support.
Interview applicants and request specific information for SBA loan application, requests credit reports, establishes eligibility, and other information pertinent to evaluation of loan application.
Track and log COI/referral sources and loan referral fee agreements.
Train SBA Loan Servicing Assistant/LSA, to work together with the applicant, collecting forms/documents, review with applicant and discuss "discrepancies" related to credit/background (LexisNexis), INS verification (proof of citizenship in the USA), collateral, Personal Financial Statement and "equity" if any.
Manage internal shared folder and ensure quality control is performed for transactions handled by assigned SBA team member.
Support customers and employees with inquiries, information requests, and resolution of complaints.
Respond accurately to borrower questions regarding the necessity of required documentation.
Prescreen all SBA/USDA loans presented for review and perform site inspections.
Maintain pipeline report.
Contact prospective borrowers when instructed by the SBA/USDA Dept staff (if not assigned to a Reg LO).
Complete required BSA/AML and SBA SOP training and other compliance training as assigned.
The ability to work in a constant state o alertness and in a safe manner.
Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, with 5 years related experience and/or training, plus 12 - 18 months related management experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
