This opportunity offers a broad range of supply chain management activities with the Controls & Avionics Solutions (CAS) supply chain team within BAE Systems Electronic Systems Sector.
The Supply Chain Manager - Procurement will be responsible for leading a team of Procurement Analysts to develop and implement procurement strategies that meet the company's needs while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement principles, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Procurement Leadership:
Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies to optimize spend, reduce costs, and ensure supply chain resilience.
Collaborate with senior leadership to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
- Team Management:
Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Procurement Analysts to achieve procurement goals and objectives.
Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the procurement team.
- Procurement Operations:
Oversee the procurement process, including requisition review, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and order management.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and procurement procedures.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
Negotiate contracts, agreements, and pricing terms with suppliers.
- Spend Analysis and Optimization:
Analyze spend data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Develop and implement strategies to optimize spend, reduce costs, and improve supplier performance.
- Inventory Management and Strategy:
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels, reduce inventory costs, and improve service levels.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of inventory management strategies with business objectives.
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas for cost reduction.
Implement inventory optimization techniques, such as Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) and Just-in-Time (JIT) inventory management.
- Risk Management:
Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks, including supply chain disruptions and supplier insolvency.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize potential impacts on the business.
- Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including planning, materials, engineering, program management, manufacturing, and logistics, to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Communicate procurement plans, strategies, and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related roles
Strong understanding of procurement principles, including contract management, supplier relationship management, and spend analysis.
Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable insights.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Proficiency in procurement software, such as Oracle
Experience with inventory management systems and techniques, and inventory optimization tools.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
3 years in a leadership role preferred.
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) certification preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $108787 - $184937
