Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Lab Technician to join our team. This full-time role requires working from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with potential for weekend shifts and overtime. As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will ensure our products meet safety and quality standards by monitoring production processes, conducting tests, and supporting compliance with food safety programs.
Responsibilities
Adhere to all quality and food safety policies.
Perform pre-operational inspections and allergen checks.
Verify product labels for accuracy.
Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory tests; document results and address non-compliance promptly.
Monitor metal detectors and check weighers; take corrective action as needed.
Collect samples for microbiological and retained testing.
Lead by example in Good Manufacturing Practices.
Assist in managing non-conforming products to prevent shipment of substandard goods.
Support root cause analysis and problem-solving for quality issues.
Maintain accurate and organized records.
Collaborate with production and R&D during new product launches.
Perform additional tasks such as hygiene inspections, raw material checks, environmental swabs, equipment calibration, and foreign material investigations.
Essential Skills
Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control processes.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Proficiency in chemistry, laboratory procedures, and biology.
Experience with inspection, QC testing, and microbiology.
Understanding of FDA regulations, wet chemistry, titration, HACCP, and viscosity.
Experience in maintaining batch records and food safety protocols.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; STEM-related Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
1+ year of GMP quality experience in a food manufacturing environment.
Basic computer skills and ability to operate lab equipment.
Strong communication and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work 3rd shift.
Work Environment
This position operates within a laboratory environment that requires adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. The shift for this role is from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with occasional weekends and overtime. The role involves working with various technologies and equipment to ensure product quality and safety.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
