Mechanical Installer II – Automation Project

Be part of the future of logistics automation.

We’re seeking hands-on Mechanical Installers to support a major automation upgrade inside a high‑volume distribution facility. This is a fast‑paced, team‑driven project where your mechanical skills will directly contribute to cutting‑edge robotics and infrastructure.

This 6–8 week assignment offers the opportunity to work on a large-scale installation project involving robotic arms, sub‑stations, and automated systems. There is potential for extension based on project needs and supply chain timing.

What You’ll Do

You’ll play a key role in bringing advanced automation systems to life, including:

  • Install and support deployment of robotic arms on loading docks , sub‑stations, towers, and internal safety fencing following detailed diagrams and plans.

  • Perform mechanical assembly and build-out using hand tools and air-powered tools with step-by-step instructions.

  • Assist with commissioning towers and equipment , ensuring installations align with technical drawings.

  • Run and route basic power wiring with attention to proper cable management.

  • Use pallet jacks to move, organize, strap, and catalog materials throughout the facility and between floors.

  • Support inventory tasks including receiving, staging, and tracking components .

  • Step in where needed—material handling, loading, packaging, cleaning, and other support roles.

  • Follow all site safety rules and PPE requirements , contributing to a strong safety culture.

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous installer or mechanical assembly experience using hand and power tools in an industrial or construction environment.

  • General labor experience in warehouses, manufacturing, or construction settings .

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow diagrams, blueprints, and step-by-step instructions.

  • Ability to lift 40–50 lbs and remain active throughout an 8‑hour shift on concrete floors.

  • Comfort with extensive standing, walking, and physical work .

  • Familiarity with basic warehouse or construction safety practices .

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
