Job Title: Mechanical Installer
Job Description
This short-term Mechanical Installer II role supports a large-scale automation upgrade in a high-volume distribution facility. You will install robotic arms, sub-stations, and internal fencing while performing a mix of mechanical assembly, material handling, and general labor tasks. The assignment is expected to last 6–8 weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on project needs and supply chain timing.
Responsibilities
Install robotic arms on loading docks, including approximately 20 robotic arms, 40 sub-stations, and internal site fencing according to project plans and diagrams.
Assemble and build robotic arms, towers, and stations using hand tools and air-powered tools, following step-by-step instructions.
Use pallet jacks to move, strap, and catalog materials and components throughout the facility and between floors via elevators.
Run wiring for the power supply of products and equipment, ensuring proper routing and basic cable management as directed.
Support project teams by commissioning towers and related equipment in line with diagrams and installation procedures.
Perform general labor tasks such as sweeping, cleaning warehouse areas, and maintaining an organized and safe work zone.
Handle inventory-related tasks, including receiving, staging, and tracking materials as needed.
Assist with housekeeping duties to keep work areas clear of debris and hazards in an active construction environment.
Adapt to multiple roles as needed, including material handling, loading, packaging, cleaning, and other support functions.
Follow all basic safety practices and site rules, including proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and equipment.
Work independently once trained on processes, while maintaining clear communication with supervisors and team members.
Maintain excellent attendance, arrive on time for each shift, and complete assigned tasks within scheduled hours.
Essential Skills
Previous installer experience with power tools and hand tools in an industrial or construction environment.
Industrial general labor experience, including working in large warehouse or construction settings.
Ability to lift 40–50 pounds consistently throughout the shift.
Comfort working 8-hour days on hard cement floors with extensive walking and standing.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow technical instructions and diagrams.
Ability to read and work from blueprints or basic installation drawings.
Good attendance record with reliability and punctuality, with no tolerance for tardiness or unapproved absences.
Ability to take direction well, follow step-by-step instructions, and work safely.
Capability to work independently once trained while maintaining effective communication with the team.
Understanding of basic safety practices in a warehouse or construction environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
