Assistant Project Manager (Contract‑to‑Hire)

Utility / Electrical Construction

We’re seeking an Assistant Project Manager for a contract‑to‑hire opportunity supporting large‑scale electrical and utility construction projects. This role is ideal for a motivated construction professional looking for hands‑on project exposure and a clear path to full‑time employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers with daily project coordination and reporting

  • Track schedules, costs, risks, and scope changes

  • Maintain project documentation (drawings, logs, as‑builts, records)

  • Coordinate with field crews and subcontractors to support safety, quality, and schedule adherence

  • Assist with planning meetings, site activities, and safety compliance

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience in construction, utilities, or field‑based roles

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings

  • Strong problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Level: Intermediate

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
