Akima Quality Control Inspector in Fort Sill, Oklahoma

The Production Control Clerk compiles, records, and reports operational and production data to support contract performance, quality assurance, and continuous improvement. This role integrates production control duties (work orders, schedules, inventory records, and performance statistics) with quality control support (sampling, defect tracking, CAPA status, and PRS/AQL performance reporting). The position operates as an impartial data and documentation resource, ensuring timely, accurate information flow to supervisors, QC Auditors, and program leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Production Data & Work Control:

  • Compile and record production/operational data from work orders, customer requests, product specifications, and operational reports using approved systems.

  • Calculate and maintain statistics: items processed, materials consumed, scrap, frequency of defects, and worker/section output.

  • Prepare and update written work schedules, work tickets, and requisitions. Maintain files, logs, and documents.

  • Track work orders, coordinate status updates, and maintain production documentation.

  • Quality & Compliance Support:

  • Record sampling sizes, defects, compliance status, and objective evidence.

  • Assist QC Auditors with sampling, documentation, and CAPA validation follow-ups.

  • Track PRS metrics, AQL trends, CAPA status, and ICE response timelines.

  • Document government-caused delays and positive findings.

  • Documentation & Records Management:

  • Maintain records in accordance with ARIMS (AR 25-400-2) and ISO 9001 retention requirements. Generate daily/weekly/monthly reports, charts, and dashboards.

  • Maintain accuracy in all data entry and archival processes.

  • Safety & Risk Compliance:

  • Document PPE compliance and safety attestation during inspection-related activities.

  • Report hazards or safety violations promptly.

  • Comply with all safety protocols in operational environments.

  • Continuous Improvement & Communication:

  • Support root cause analysis by assembling trend data.

  • Assist in monitoring CAP effectiveness.

  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders and support supervisors with data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.

  • 1–3 years in production control, quality, logistics, or maintenance environments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

  • GCSS-Army experience preferred.

  • Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening.

  • Ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain and maintain a CAC.

  • Applicant must possess a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued driver’s license.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Walk operational areas for extended periods.

  • Lift up to site-specific weight requirements.

  • Work in indoor/outdoor conditions.

  • Operational/industrial areas including motor pools, warehouses, and offices.
