Amergis ICU Nurses Needed – Make a Difference When It Matters Most! in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse (RN)
The ICU RN is a highly skilled and compassionate nursing professional responsible for delivering critical care to patients with life-threatening conditions. This role requires advanced clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to manage complex cases in a high-acuity environment. The RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill patients
· Perform comprehensive assessments including hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator settings, and neurological status
· Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to arrhythmias and alarms
· Administer high-risk medications, vasoactive drips, and advanced IV therapies
· Monitor and document patient responses to interventions and changes in condition
· Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plans
· Prepare patients for complex diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeries
· Provide care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, invasive lines, and advanced monitoring
· Educate patients and families on critical illness, treatments, and recovery expectations
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
· Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standards
· Respond promptly to emergencies such as cardiac arrest, rapid deterioration, or code situations
· Support patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
Minimum Requirements
· Current Registered Nurse License in the state of practice
· Minimum one year of professional nursing experience; ICU experience strongly preferred
· Completion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)
· Current BLS and ACLS certification (PALS preferred)
· Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and critical care monitoring
· Experience with ventilators, invasive lines, and advanced life support
· TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)
· Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
· Successful completion of new hire orientation and ICU training
· Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations
· Strong communication skills and proficiency in English
· Basic computer literacy
· Must be at least 18 years of age
