Projects are long-cycle and highly customized, allowing you to see each unit through from initial assembly to final testing and installation.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble heavy industrial processing equipment and mixers from the ground up using detailed blueprints and schematics.

  • Interpret and follow mechanical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to ensure accurate builds.

  • Work with a wide range of mechanical components, including rotating parts, couplings, bearings, seals, gearboxes, and motors.

  • Use hand tools and power tools to perform mechanical assembly, fitting, fastening, and alignment of parts.

  • Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic testing on mechanical and basic electrical components to identify and resolve issues during assembly.

  • Install and align motors, gearboxes, and other drive components to meet specified tolerances.

  • Assist with building, installing, and testing industrial equipment and components to ensure proper operation and quality standards.

  • Handle and position large parts and assemblies safely, including working with overhead cranes when required.

  • Apply mechanical aptitude to identify potential assembly problems and recommend practical solutions.

  • Follow established procedures and safety guidelines while working with heavy equipment, tools, and machinery.

  • Collaborate closely with a small team of assemblers to coordinate tasks and complete long-cycle orders on schedule.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in an environment with sheet metal and large fabricated parts.

  • Participate in testing processes, including checking tolerances and performance of assembled equipment as needed.

  • Use basic electrical and mechanical repair skills, including experience from automotive or diesel engine repair, to support assembly and troubleshooting activities.

  • Demonstrate reliable attendance, effective communication, and strong teamwork throughout each project’s build cycle.

Essential Skills

  • Proven mechanical aptitude and experience in heavy assembly or millwright work.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.

  • Hands-on experience working with machines, rotating parts, couplings, bearings, seals, gearboxes, and motors.

  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly and installation.

  • Experience performing mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic testing on equipment and components.

  • Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical repair, including exposure to automotive or diesel engine repair.

  • Ability to work safely with heavy equipment and large fabricated parts in an industrial environment.

  • History of good attendance, reliability, and effective teamwork in a shop or manufacturing setting.

  • Capability to work accurately with tolerances and measurements during assembly and testing.

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and wear required personal protective equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in millwright work or similar heavy industrial assembly is highly beneficial.

  • Hands-on experience with overhead cranes for moving and positioning large parts is a plus.

  • Background in diesel engine repair, automotive repair, or similar mechanical trades is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with both mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting in an industrial context.

  • Experience working with custom-built equipment or long-cycle manufacturing projects.

  • Comfort working in a non-climate controlled, open-air industrial environment.

  • Personal set of hand tools; access to a company tool program as an additional resource.

  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in assembly processes.

Why Work Here?
