Amentum Project / Configuration Manager in Fort Meade, Maryland

Amentum is seeking a Mid- to Senior-level Project / Configuration Manager to join our team of passionate individuals at Ft. Meade, MD. In this role you will support challenging, mission-critical projects that have a direct impact on the nation’s security and intelligence mission.
In support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the Intel and Cyber Division is assembling a team to support a program that provides critical IT capabilities to the Department of Defense. We are committed to recruiting and retaining this team beyond prototype development and testing, to provide long-term integration, deployment, operation and maintenance as needed.

Work Schedule: 8 hours per day, Monday through Friday
Essential Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Project / Configuration Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
Support a complex hybrid/Agile IT project driven by an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) with logic-tied IMS milestones and task completion dates
Execute disciplined Sprint kickoff/planning meetings while ensuring alignment to contract deliverables and IMS milestones
Manage all Sprint performance metrics and reporting, driving consistent 90%+ Sprint-completion rates through daily planning and coaching of team leads
Lead Agile ceremonies including Sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily scrums
Work with project stakeholders to continually refine the backlog and align user stories to IMS task completion dates and milestones
Prevent Sprint overcommitment by refining team velocities, enforcing realistic planning, and holding teams accountable to agreed-upon commitments
Support customer-facing engagements and provide recurring reports and briefings as required
Coach team eads in Agile best practices in a hybrid environment, reinforcing accountability, transparency, and delivery discipline
Maintain and manage configuration management databases (CMDB)
Oversee software and hardware version control
Monitor and audit configuration changes to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Develop and implement configuration management plans, policies, and procedures
Track and manage configuration items (CIs) and their relationships
Generate and present reports on configuration statuses to management
Provide training and guidance to staff on configuration management tools and processes
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Employee will work in a SCIF on a daily basis.
Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
Experience working in a DoD classified environment
5 (five) years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master on government or large-scale IT programs
5 (five) years of experience as a Configuration Manager on Government or large IT programs
Strong understanding of configuration management principles, processes, and best practices
Proficiency with configuration management tools such as Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (formerly SCCM), Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
Experience with version control systems, such as Git
Knowledge of ITIL and COBIT frameworks
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Successful experience improving Sprint performance and eliminating workflow compliance gaps
Exceptional attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organizational, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
Clearance Required:
- Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or IT related field, or an additional five (5) years of experience with Configuration or IT Project Management
Minimum Years of Experience:
5 (five) years of experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master on government or large-scale IT programs
5 (five) years of experience as a Configuration Manager on Government or large IT programs
Preferred Qualifications:
PMP, PMI-ACP, or Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
Atlassian certification or demonstrated advanced expertise with Jira/Confluence
Familiarity with ITILv4
Previous experience as an IT Network or Systems Engineer
Experience developing IT checklists, SOPs, guides, etc.
