The MITRE Ft. Meade/Annapolis Junction joint cyber operations work program is dedicated to developing innovative solutions for our sponsors to defend the nation and project power in and through cyberspace.
Applicants need to have the passion to tackle hard problems, are adept collaborators, and have a desire to elevate MITRE’s reputation for technical quality and innovation.
Job Responsibilities:
Work as part of a team to:
Produce technical work products to include written reports, models, and system diagrams
Develop innovative cyber operations strategies, tactics, techniques, and procedures
Engineer innovative tactics, techniques, and procedures to ensure resiliency in the face of cyber-attack
Work closely with senior MITRE and government leaders to communicate vision and strategy to improve cyber operations
Work with a team of MITRE personnel to implement strategy and/or develop prototype solutions
Basic Qualifications:
Rising sophomores to rising seniors enrolled full time in an accredited, degree seeking a BS degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, cybersecurity, policy, intelligence analysis, national security, or related disciplines. Will also consider high school students.
A demonstrated knowledge or familiarity with some or all of the following--systems engineering , c omputer science , n ational security , i ntelligence or risk analysis , c ybersecurity processes and tools , o perating systems and networking
Ability and w illingness to be processed for TOP SECRET SCI clearance
Sustained excellence in academic performance
Preferred Qualifications:
Technology Application to Mission
Ability to identify opportunities to leverage Artificial intelligence, machine learning, automation to enable workflows to improve operations
Analyze user behavior and workflows to inform User experience (UX) design
Operations
Understanding of intelligence processes, collection, and targeting and how they enable mission
Knowledge of Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO) (i.e., red teaming) to include exploitation, effects operations, and mission enabling activities
Knowledge of Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) to include cyber threat hunting, cybersecurity, or defense of critical infrastructure
Knowledge of cybersecurity to include sensoring, monitoring, response options, deception, and incident response
Familiarity or study of military or other government cyber operations and implications to national security
Capabilities and Acquisitions
Knowledge of platform engineering, data engineering, software development, or micro-services architecture to inform system design and capability development
Knowledge of Agile acquisition processes and the DEVSECOPS process for capability development
Ability to support and or lead the process to analyze a workflow, identify gaps, and develop a mitigation strategy
Knowledge of modernized testing procedures and their integration with DEVSECOPs
An active TOP SECRET with SCI clearance is preferred, but not required.
Track record of innovative thinking with demonstration of extracurriculars related to the above knowledge areas (e.g., creation of a home lab, personal research projects, etc.)

$46,500 - $58,000 - $69,500 Annual
